Special Biblical itinerary for young people

Day 1.
Arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport. Transfer to Tel Aviv.
Day 2.
Mount Carmel and the Galilee

"And he said, The Lord will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither". (Amos 1:2)
Visit to Jaffa in Tel Aviv. Tour of the Old City where Peter lodged and from which ancient port Jonas sailed, to be swallowed later by the whale.
Drive along the Via Maris, visit Caesarea, where Cornelius was converted by Peter. Arrival at Mount Carmel, site of the deeds of the Prophet Elias against the prophets of Baal and the pagans who challenged the word of God. Time for prayer.
Drive through the heart of Galilee, passing Nazareth and Cana, site of the first miracle of Jesus in Cana Wedding. Overnight stay in Tiberias.

Day 3 .
To the Galilee

"But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea." ( S Mark 3:7)
Baptism in the Jordan River waters. Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
From the mount of the Sermon of the Mount, descend by foot to the site of the miracle of the Bread and Fish, on the shores of the lake where Jesus walked on the water.
A visit to Korazin and the archaelogical excavations. Overnight stay in Tiberias.

Day 4.
The North and the Sea of Galilee

"As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion". (Psalm 133)
At Capernaum, visit the ruins of the city where Jesus met his disciples, who fished in the lake and where many of the miracles took place. Drive through the Golan Heights, with a panoramic view of Mount Hermon, mentioned in Psalm 133 as the most likely place of the Transfiguration of Jesus. Arrival to Caesarea Filippos, where Jesus declared himself before Peter as the son of God and Messiah. A walk along the Banias, the main source of the River Jordan. Overnight stay in a kibbutz in the Upper Galilee.

Day 5.
The Judean desert

"The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God." ( Isaiah 40:3)
Drive to the South along the Jordan Valley and through the lands of Samaria, to Jericho. This is the original route of ascent to Jerusalem for those who journeyed from the Galilee through the Jordan Valley, as Jesus did. Visit the caves of Qumran, including a walk along the Essene pathway. This is the region where John the Baptist came for prayer. A dip in the Dead Sea. Visit to Ein Gedi, where David stayed when pursued by Saul. Walk along the pathway up to the Fountain of Shulamit. Overnight stay in the desert next to the Massada mountain.
Day 6.
The Dead Sea desert

"John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins." ( S Mark 1:4)
Ascend to Massada before dawn along the Snake pathway, visit at the excavations of the magnificent fortress built by King Herod, last refuge for the Jews who fought against the Romans. Descend by cablecar, or by foot along the "snakes pathway". Biblical camel ride and meeting with the Nomads of the desert, who keep some of the traditions of our Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Ascend to Jerusalem along the old Roman road, with a panoramic view of the Wadi of Ein Gedi. Triumphant arrival in Jerusalem.

Day 7.
Jerusalem

A day on the footsteps of the Biblical Jerusalem.
The tour starts at the Vale of Hinnom (Gehenna) which means Hell. It is here where the Cananean carried out their pagan rites, and where King Josiah fought against them, as told in the 2nd book of Kings 23:10. Continue on the walk through the Jehoshaphat Valley up to the Jerusalem of King David's days at the site of Silwan (Siloam) village. This is the "Decision Valley", where according to the words of Joel 3:2, "the Lord will judge all the nations". Arrival to the Siloam Pool, where Jesus healed the blind man (John 9), to the archaelogical excavations at the City of David, on to the Temple Pinnacle, to reach the entrance to the walled city. Visit Moriah Mount or Temple Mount, on to the archaelogical excavations of the Temple and to the Western Wall. The tour finishes with a visit to the Jewish Quarter, exit from Zion's Gate, to the Cenacle and David's Tomb.

Day 8.
Jerusalem

On the footsteps of Jesus in Jerusalem.......
The day starts on the top of the Mount of Olives, to enjoy a panoramic view of the city, in the same scenario that accompanied Jesus when weeping for Jerusalem (Lucas 20:41). Descend by foot to the Gethsemane Garden. Time for prayer. Continue to the Via Dolorosa up to the Tomb Garden.
Visit at the Biblical Garden of Tantur, were we will learn about the everyday life in Jerusalem of Jesus' days. Biblical supper.
Visit at the scale model of Jerusalem as it appeared in the days of the Second Temple, then on to the Holocaust Memorial and the Great Menorah in the Knesset. (Candelabrum, Ex. 25:31). Farewell dinner and distribution of diplomas.

Day 9.
Transfer to the airport and departure.
"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy." Psalm 137

It is possible to add to our itinerary a visit to Eilat, on the shores of the Red Sea.

Eilat , the city and the desert. Drive on jeep through the Red Canyon region, with its strange geological formations. Visit the Coral World Underwater Observatory, diving in the Red Sea, which waters Moses opened during the Exodus from Egypt. Overnight stay in Eilat.
